Waste Age Stories

“There once was a boy who loved Tin Cans.”

Waste Age Stories was an original performance-storytelling piece, created in collaboration with The Design Museum (Kensington) in Autumn 2021. It accompanied their Waste Age exhibition, helping young audiences (7+) build personal, emotional connections with the exhibition and its key theme of waste reduction.

The production was a musical story-telling event, including three original fairytales and an original score performed on a biscuit-tin guitar made out of found materials, and was performed multiple times daily on the exhibition’s “family days”. It was also interactive – audiences chose between one of three original fairytales, and watched as the story unfolded before them in the museum’s central hall. In total, the production engaged with over 1,000 young people and their adults.
