In the summer of 2018, BoxedIn Theatre toured a trilogy of shows to 17 different rural and remote locations around the UK and Ireland. The tour visited a range of locations – from Enniskillen with a population of 11,000 to Roundstone, with a population of less than 300 – and offered a trilogy of shows, with A Midsummer Night’s Dream as the headline show.

Running at 60 minutes with a cast of just six, the production took inspiration from the idea of “British summer fetes,” but with just a little bit of fairy magic thrown in. The result was a fast-paced interpretation of Shakespeare’s best loved comedy, complete with an original score of indie-folk songs, and filled with magic, music, and mischief.

This production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream went on to achieve a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2018, and was shortlisted for the Scottish Arts Club Theatre Award.
